Eye Clinic
At the Eye Clinic, visual screening and primary eye health is offered. Poor vision is a major problem in Malawi, and access to eye health in Mulanje was very poor prior to the opening of the clinic. An estimated 1% of all people in our area are effectively blind; whereas 50% of these have a condition that can potentially be treated.
The clinic was opened in 2023 and is well equipped with slitlamps, tonometry, a laser and several consultation rooms. On a regular basis, cataract surgery is performed. Of course, glasses are available too.

Rehabilitation
Patients with conditions such as stroke, musculoskeletal complaints and neurological diseases or disability are assisted at the Rehabilitation clinic. The staff at the clinic also do consultations on the wards and make homevisits.
An important group are children with cerebral palsy, who receive for example physiotherapy, speech therapy and play therapy.
